WFEC Changes District Office Operating Hours

West Florida Electric Cooperative (WFEC) is committed to serving its member-owners in the most efficient, cost-effective way possible. Due to rising costs, WFEC began looking at options to reduce the cooperative’s operating costs. With concerns about rising fuel costs on behalf of our member-owners and employees, WFEC considered implementing a four-day work week, but determined it was not in the best interest of our members. After other modified schedules were considered, it was determined that the most efficient and customer oriented option was to reduce the operating hours of our two district offices. Therefore, effective Monday, June 16, the Graceville office will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The Bonifay and Sneads district offices will continue to be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and offer service at our drive-thru windows on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The Graceville office will remain a full-service location on Fridays, while the Bonifay and Sneads offices will take payments at their drive-thru windows and handle requests via phone. The cooperative’s service center will continue to remain open after hours, weekends and holidays for outage dispatching and other services currently available.

Remember, members do not have to visit our offices to conduct most business transactions. Our convenient payment options remain the same. Members will still be able to visit our district offices during the hours mentioned above as well as the several remote payment locations located throughout our service area. They are: Regions Bank in Blountstown and Marianna; People’s South Bank in Marianna, Greenwood, Malone, Chipley, Sneads and Bonifay and Superior Bank in Altha, Blountstown and Marianna. When utilizing these remote payment locations, it is important to have your billing statement with you. Please remember that these locations are unable to accept late payments.

Members may also pay their bills online, by bank draft or credit card. To sign up for online banking, you will need your account number and password. If you do not have a password, send an e-mail with your name and WFEC account number to us or call any one of our three offices to obtain one. If you would like to sign up for our bank draft payment option, you may call an office or complete the online form and turn it in at any one of our locations. Bills may also be paid by electronic checks or credit card over the phone. To do this, you will need your bank’s routing number, your account number and driver’s license number. There is a five dollar fee for all e-checks.

As an alternative for pre-paid customers only, West Florida Electric has recently acquired enhanced prepaid equipment that requires no easy-pay power card to operate. Using this new equipment, members may call in credit card and e-check purchases over the telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the dollar amount of electricity will be sent to your meter over the power line. Purchases may still be made in any of our three offices during business hours, but a visit to an office is not required. If you would be interested in changing to this new equipment, please contact us at your earliest convenience. There is no charge for the equipment change.
