The Cooperative will provide underground primary and secondary electrical service providing the members pay CIAC (if any) and the cost differential between underground and overhead facilities in advance.
The following formula shall be used to determine the contribution in aid of construction for underground (CIACUG) distribution facilities to members.
CIACUG = CIACOH + E; where
E = the estimated difference between the cost of providing the distribution line extension with underground facilities and the cost of providing service using overhead facilities (CIACOH) including the transformer, service drop and other necessary fixtures. For single phase underground primary service, the differential cost of the underground transformer will be $450.00. The first 500 ft. of underground primary (residential) will not exceed $5.00 per ft. with each additional ft. not to exceed $7.00 per ft. The first 250 ft. of underground primary for non-residential service will not exceed $5.00 per ft. with each additional ft. not to exceed $7.00 per foot.
For three phase primary service, the differential cost of the underground transformer will be figured on an individual basis with the first 250 ft. of underground primary will not exceed $10 per ft. with each additional ft. not to exceed $12.
If an overhead service already exists, the member shall pay the cost of the underground construction plus the cost of removing the existing overhead service less the salvage value of reusable materials and equipment.
