These line extension policies are taken from the WFEC Rules & Regulations approved by the Board of Trustees.
When electrical service is required where there is no existing service, the cooperative may require that members pay a contribution in aid to construction (CIAC). The following line extension policies apply to all new services.
The Cooperative will provide to eligible members without CIAC up to 500 feet of overhead primary and secondary distribution lines, including the associated transformers, meters, service wire, poles, hardware and other equipment required for overhead electrical service to all permanent residential facilities which are dwellings within its service area.
The Cooperative will provide up to 250 feet of primary distribution line, the transformers, the service wire, the pole, the hardware and all other equipment required for OVERHEAD electrical service to the following:
(a.) Non-residential, commercial, and industrial facilities; or (b.) Special seasonal homes, camps, campers (RV), trailers, barns, wells, billboards, and radio towers.
Note: Facilities which require special equipment not normally used by the Cooperative will be handled on a case by case basis.
