Panhandle Row Crop Short Course - Thursday, March 5
The Washington County Agricultural Center (1424 Jackson Ave, Chipley, FL 32428) will host the annual Panhandle Row Crop Short Course on Thursday, March 5th. Registration and trade show begin at 7:15 AM (Central) with the meeting starting promptly at 7:45 AM. It concludes with a sponsored lunch at 12 PM. This production meeting will address early season management of cotton and peanuts.
Attendees will hear research updates from Extension specialists with the University of Florida as well as industry representatives. Topics to be addressed include peanut and cotton variety performance, disease management, pest management, fertility, the EPA Runoff Mitigation Calculator and farm wellness.

Jackson County Master Gardener Plant Sale - Saturday, March 21
Come out and shop for all your spring plant needs at the annual Jackson County Master Gardener Plant Sale. The plant sale will open at 7:00 am on Saturday, March 21st at the Jackson County Extension Office (2741 Penn Ave, Marianna, FL 32448). The plant sale will have fruit trees, vegetable starts, small fruit plants, flowers, and more! The sale will also have various vendors set up. Purchases are to be made by cash or check only. Do you want to grow vegetables such as okra, peas and summer squash? Join us for a workshop focusing on how to best grow and care for your summer vegetable garden and learn some new recipes to make with your harvest! This workshop is the second in a 3-part series. The cost is $15 per person. Participants will have the chance to taste several foods and will take home a variety of seeds and starter plants.
