When it comes to SEER — the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio — of your home’s heating and cooling system, the higher the number, the more efficient it runs. And that can mean big savings in energy bills. 38819002

Treat yourself to savings this holiday season and upgrade to a high efficiency air-source, dual-fuel, mini-split or geothermal heat pump!

West Florida Electric Cooperative (WFEC) has got a Christmas gift for you that will make your purchase of a high-efficiency heat pump easier. We’re offering $100-$600 per ton in rebates to homeowners — saving you money in energy costs now and in the future.

To take advantage of this rebate program, your new unit must be sized properly. A Manual J calculation must be performed by a certified licensed HVAC contractor or a WFEC Energy Services Representative. This load calculation is mandatory to participate in this program.

Rebate amounts vary depending on the SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) as mentioned above. SEER is a measurement of how energy efficient your heating and cooling unit is. Here’s a breakdown of the
rebates available:

Rebates:

Air-Source Heat Pumps:

14 SEER * (manufactured homes only)

$100/ton

15 SEER

$150/ton

16 SEER or greater

$200/ton

Mini-split Heat Pumps

14 SEER * (manufactured homes only)

$250/ton

15 SEER

$300/ton

16 SEER

$350/ton

Geothermal Heat Pumps:

17.1 EER or greater

$600/ton

*Applicable to existing manufactured homes replacing electric furnaces

Making smart decisions about your home’s system can have a big impact on your utility bills this holiday season. Replacing your existing unit with a high-efficiency, air-source, mini-split or geothermal heat pump with a SEER rating of 15 or higher is an excellent way to lower your costs.
