After forty-one years at West Florida Electric Cooperative, Russell Dunaway has retired. His last day at the cooperative was January 2.
His career at WFEC began in September of 1977 when he was hired as the Director of Member Services. During his long career at the co-op, Dunaway served its members in various capacities including Office Manager, Director of Financial & Staff Services, Director of Finance & Administration, Vice President of Finance & Administration, Interim Executive Vice President & CEO, and finally, as Executive Vice President & CEO, a position he accepted in November 2014. 57741006
“I will forever be indebted to the employees and board for the opportunity to work with each of them over the years,” said Dunaway in a memo announcing his decision to retire.
The Board of Trustees appointed Ty Peel to serve as Interim Executive Vice President & CEO beginning January 3.
